The Bisley Approach

Its purpose is to capture best practice taken from all disciplines to arrive at a consistent approach to instruction. Both our grounds are considered a national centre of excellence.  The National Clay Shooting Centre is the training ground for the British Shooting Team for skeet and trap shooting, whilst, sporting clay shooting takes place on Cottesloe Heath which won the 2020 Shooting Awards for the best Clay Shooting Ground in the country.

What does it consist of?

It consists of a six lesson program that will introduce a novice to the sport of shotgun shooting in their preferred discipline, Game shooting, English Sporting, Trap or Skeet. Each lesson is designed to build on previous lessons, arriving at a clear objective at the end.

Objective

Whether it is the Duke of Edinburgh’s award scheme, a first game shoot, registered competition, or even preparation for a shotgun licence application, the Bisley Approach will help you achieve your goals.

The Bisley Approach is purely designed for novice shooters who wish to take up the sport in a structured manner. Clients will be given a shooting record book to monitor progress, with a certificate at the end.

The Bisley Approach to Shooting Instruction

Training and instruction is important to us at Bisley and we have introduced a standardised instructional package for novice clients, called “The Bisley Approach”.

The Bisley Approach is a teaching methodology derived from the wealth of training and experience across both Bisley Shooting Ground and the National Clay Shooting Centre. Its purpose is to capture best practice from all the shooting disciplines to arrive at a consistent approach to shooting instruction fit for a national centre of excellence for clay shooting. This package delivers a progressive six lesson program that will introduce a novice to the sport of shotgun shooting in their preferred discipline, Game shooting, English Sporting, Trap or Skeet. Each lesson is designed to build on previous lessons, arriving at a clear objective at the end.
